Course Description:

This workshop, delivered over two half-day sessions via Zoom, will walk you through the steps of building your own website from scratch.

This is practical training and you will leave with a live website and the ability to maintain it. No coding or technical skills are required.

We will cover:

• Components of building your first website – what is hosting, a domain name, a website platform, a page builder and a theme?
• How much does it cost (annually) to have your own website that you built yourself?
• This training will use the Wordpress website platform and the Elementor page builder.
• How to design and build your first website.
• How to build pages and a navigation menu.
• How to insert your content – text, images, videos, logo, contact page, etc.
• How to include links to your socials and elsewhere.
• How to implement good SEO practices.
• How to keep your website updated going forward.

What you need:

Please join using your laptop or PC and have your mobile phone to hand. Please do not join the Zoom training on your mobile. Further instructions will be emailed to you by the trainer prior to the first session.

Who this training is for:

This training is provided for small business owners in County Cavan who do not yet have a website. It is not available for consultants, web designers or businesses that already have a website.
