LEO Empowering Life Sciences Innovation Through Data in Waterford

"The LEO was there when we truly needed guidance, providing invaluable support and advice during a critical stage in our journey”

Deep Digital Solutions Group was founded in January 2024 to fill a growing gap in the market for specialist data consultancy services within regulated industries, particularly life sciences.

The founding team shared a vision to help organisations unlock the full potential of their operational data through innovative, compliant, and end-to-end digital solutions. They recognised that the market was looking for comprehensive support across its data strategy, starting with strong data foundations.

Deep Digital has grown quickly since its formation. It employs over 30 across 5 different countries, with locations in Dungarvan (HQ) and Philadelphia. It has 15 different customers, spread around the world, all multinational life science companies. Deep Digital became ISO9001:2015 certified in November 2024.

Deep Digital helps businesses make the most of their data by ensuring it is collected, stored, structured, and used effectively. The team does this by connecting machines and systems so data flows smoothly from production equipment to business systems. This helps the clients use their data for better decision-making. Essentially, it takes raw, scattered data and turns it into something useful, reliable, and valuable for its clients.

Its initial engagement with the LEO in Waterford was in April 2024, where support was provided for a successful Priming Grant application. This grant enabled the creation of 3 new roles, all of which were filled by August 2024.

Deep Digital was also recently named as Waterford’s Enterprise Award winner and will go on to represent Waterford at the 25th National Enterprise Awards which will take place in the Mansion House, Dublin, on May 22nd 2025.

When it can, the team at Deep Digital supports other local businesses, for office furniture and equipment, painting and decorating, catering and support with company events. In 2024 it was the jersey sponsor for the Waterford Minor Camogie team. In 2025 it will continue this support by sponsoring the Waterford U17 Camogie team.

Eoghan Moloney, Chief Operating Officer at Deep Digital is looking forward to the next few years, “We plan to continue growing at pace. The LEO was there when we truly needed guidance, providing invaluable support and advice during a critical stage in our journey. We will continue to work closely with LEO Waterford, and will seek its assistance in engaging with Enterprise Ireland when the time is right. We intend to further build on our existing presence in the US, which will remain a key market for the company as we scale. In 2026, we also plan to expand our graduate programme, leveraging SETU’s university status to attract top-tier graduates.”
