This course is designed for business owners, managers and marketing personnel that want to measure their
digital marketing activities and website traffic using Google Analytics. This will enable them to make critical
decisions about the effectiveness of their web content and pages.
Understanding Google Analytics
This workshop introduces the basics of Google Analytics, including setup, key metrics, and how to interpret website data. Participants will learn to use insights for improving site performance and user experience.
Course Outcomes
At the end of the course, all participants will:
- Be able to set up their Google Analytics account
- Be able to access and understand key reports
- Understand the different tracking methods – events and conversions
- Be able to work with their web team to ensure all tracking is in place
Course Content
- Google Analytics: how to create an account and add the code to their website
- Event & conversion tracking: what it is and how to read the reports
- Turning on e-commerce tracking (if relevant)
- Know how to access and read key reports and know what the data is telling them
- Setting targets and KPIs
- Introduction to Monster Insights (for those on WordPress websites)
- Q&A throughout

- All participants should have access to their existing Google Analytics account via their PC/Laptop for the duration of the training. If they do not have a Google Analytics account, ideally, they should create one prior to the day so they can access the reports during the training. If they do not have one on the day, setting up will be covered. A help document/video can be supplied to assist with the set up.
