New EU–US Tariff Agreement – Support Available for Affected Businesses

A new EU–US tariff agreement is set to come into effect on August 1, 2025, introducing a 15% tariff on most EU exports to the US. This replaces the previously proposed 30% levy and provides greater clarity for exporters. However, many details, including product-specific exemptions and implementation procedures, are still being finalised.

In light of these developments, Local Enterprise Office Wicklow is here to support businesses that may be impacted.

We encourage any business trading with the US or exploring new markets to contact us for support with:

Navigating new customs and pricing strategies – including financial advice and one-to-one mentoring.

Market diversification – Explore opportunities beyond the US, including the Eurozone, Canada, and Asia.

➡️ Apply now for the Export Development Programme

Tariff classification and origin planning – Reduce your tariff exposure with expert guidance on classification reviews and origin planning.

We can also connect you with customs advisors to assist with duty relief schemes and other technical queries.

As further details emerge, we will work closely with Enterprise Ireland to assess the sectoral impact and provide updated guidance to businesses.
