Wicklow Business Full Of Energy For National Enterprise Awards Final
An innovative green energy business from Rathnew is set to compete along with the country’s best small businesses as one of the Finalists for the LEO National Enterprise Awards 2025.
JTM Energy will represent the Local Enterprise Office Wicklow at the prestigious awards that take place on Thursday 22nd May in the Round Room at the Mansion House in Dublin. The company, led by Shaun McNamara, Frank Daly and Don Coughlan manufactures battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Co. Wicklow for off-grid and on-grid situations. They are the only Irish manufacturer of 100% electric generators – which have no emissions and no noise – perfect for construction sites and film sets and domestic houses. The team, who have been supported by LEO Wicklow for many years, has also developed unique energy management software, to be used alongside their BESS. This software ensures that the electricity used is always used in the most efficient way, so that customers save on power costs, have power continuity in the event of grid failure and reduce their carbon and environmental footprints.
This is the 25th year of the Local Enterprise Office initiative, in which one business from each of the 31 LEOs will compete for a prize fund of €50,000. Along with an overall National Enterprise of the Year Winner there are categories for Best Start-Up, Best Export Business, an Innovation Award, a One-to-Watch Award, and a Sustainability Award.
Commenting on the upcoming Awards ceremony, Vibeke Delahunt, Head of Enterprise at LEO Wicklow said: “The National Enterprise Awards serve to highlight the very best businesses that the Local Enterprise Offices are working with across the country. The diversity of sectors and innovation shown again this year is outstanding and the winners will no doubt produce businesses destined for international success. We are excited to see how JTM Energy get on in the competition this year, as they are one of the truly innovative businesses in sustainable energy in Ireland at the moment”.
Local Enterprise Office Wicklow have had previous success at the awards, with Aqualicense of Arklow winning the overall Award in 2022, and Brady’s Coffee of Wicklow Town winning the Regional Award in 2024.
All of us at LEO Wicklow will have our fingers crossed for success on 22nd May.
We wish Shaun, Frank, Don, Donna and all the staff at JTM Energy the best of luck!
