How to use Canva to design eye-catching graphics for your website and social media posts

Would you like to know how you can improve your social media posts by designing eye-catching graphics and images using Canva?  

 In this course your trainer will demonstrate how to design 7 or 8 different types of marketing graphics, with each example showing you new techniques. All the exercises will show you how to use the free version of Canva - you do not need the premium version in order to implement what you are shown in this course. By the end of the course you will know: 

Who is this course suitable for?

You don’t need to have any experience of editing images.  However, you must be comfortable using a laptop and also using mobile apps.

 This programme is not for digital marketing trainers/consultants or website designers.

What we will cover

  Part 1

• How to crop an image, add text and your logo
• How to make a copy of a design, use preformatted text options and animate the text
• How remove the background from a person or product and add them to a different coloured background plus how to add shadow to an image
• How to create a background that matches your brand colour and how to add predesigned text graphics
• How to design a portrait shaped graphic for Stories, including how to flip and image and add animated graphics
• How to use the Canva image library and how to add transparency to shapes
• How to use frames in your designs when working with images
• How to use frames in your designs when adding a video
• How to find and edit Canva templates

 Part 2

• How to send your design to your phone using QR code
• How to add a QR code to your design

Editing images – extra tips and tricks

• How to use the colour picker to match text or shape colours to your image.
• How to blur the background on your image.
• How to touch up people’s faces.
• How to turn your image into a painting.
• How to add your image to a PC screen or mobile phone using smart mock-ups.

Text – extra tips and tricks

• How to turn your text into a circle.
• How to make your text appear sideways.

Shapes – extra tips and tricks

• You can add text directly to a shape.
• How to easily swap out shapes to see which one is best.
• How to round the corners of a shape.

Frames – extra tips and tricks

• How to find extra frames.

Templates – extra tips and tricks

• How to favourite templates and then find your favourites.
• How to remove the background from a video.
• How to place text behind a person or object in your image.

Course Methodology:

This is a 3-hour LIVE online course which you can attend from your home or office using a PC / MAC / Smartphone or tablet (you will need to be able to hear sound either through speakers or headphones but you do not need a webcam).  Please note that the larger the screen you use the better the experience will be.
