An interactive workshop - with regular screen breaks - which will focus on both imports and exports, and provide businesses with a better understanding of the potential impacts, formalities and procedures to be adopted when trading with a country which is outside the Single Market and Custom Unions (a "Third Country").
Open to all small businesses, the workshop will cover areas such as what export and import procedures apply, how tarriffs work and how to correctly classify goods.
What will be covered:
- Brief overview of current affairs vis-à-vis Brexit to set the scene including NI
- A guide to Classification
- Understanding Valuation
- Rules of Origin
- Incoterms 2020
- Customs declarations for imports and exports including completing an import and export document
- Authorised Economic Operator (AEO)
- Special procedures eg. Inward Processing, Customs Warehouse
- New changes in 2024 will be covered
- Q & A
This training course will be delivered by Tom Mc Grath of Trade Advisers Consulting Ltd. on behalf LEOs Cork and Kerry.
Prior to his work at Trade Advisers, Tom was the Head of the Customs Audit Unit in Irish Revenue’s Large Cases Division. He has extensive experience of completing Customs audit/diagnostic reports for businesses and training programmes on Brexit-related Customs changes.
