The course outline features key areas like

• How to go about identifying and attracting a customer base
• How to build a connection with customers through social media or through an offline initiative like a demonstration

• Market research – ‘why’, ‘what’s involved’ … and importantly giving yourself comfort that the business can generate an income for you

• Some compliance issues that typically come up for hobby businesses including  licences to trade; insurance; health & safety
• How social media and the internet can help you attract customers

• Other matters – for example financial planning as one may have another source of income for example a pension or another source of social welfare etc.

• Bookkeeping
• How to secure some funding for your business if necessary
