This session will provide SMEs with the knowledge, tools, and best practices needed to use WhatsApp as a compliant and effective marketing channel.
Objectives
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
- Understand the role and potential of WhatsApp in SME marketing
- Apply GDPR-compliant practices when using WhatsApp for business
- Set up and optimise WhatsApp Business tools (including Broadcast Lists and Catalogues)
- Create message templates that encourage engagement and conversions
- Use tools and tactics to streamline and measure WhatsApp campaigns

- WhatsApp vs WhatsApp Business: Key differences and features
- Why WhatsApp is effective for SME customer engagement
2. GDPR & Legal Compliance
- Key GDPR principles for WhatsApp marketing
- Managing opt-ins and opt-outs properly
3. WhatsApp Business Tools
- Setting up a professional WhatsApp Business profile
- Using automated replies, quick replies, and labels
- Creating and sharing product/service catalogues
- Using Broadcast Lists vs Groups – what’s compliant?
4. Creating a WhatsApp Marketing Campaign
- Building your WhatsApp contact list ethically
- Planning a mini campaign (e.g. product launch, special offer, event)
- Using tools like SuperChat and WATI WhatsApp to run WhatsApp marketing campaigns.
- Analytics and tracking engagement
